On (yes!) Wolf Creek. Carson-Iceberg Wilderness, Sierra Nevada, Alpine County, California. Location is of the falls rather than the photo point. The inset shows the upper fall, which is off this pic to the right (the edge of the plunge pool is visible here). About 5 miles (8 km) in on the Wolf Creek Trail--at least there's something to see at the end of the hike! Btw, the "wolf" that shows up in place names all over the West probably referred to coyotes, at least in most cases.
