Burn

Aftermath of the Canyon Creek fire, looking east off US 395 about 10 miles south of John Day, in eastern Oregon. The fire, which was lightning-caused, burned over 110,000 acres (44,500 ha) and 40 homes in August, 2015. The inset shows a view a bit more to the right, where they managed to stop the flames' advance.
August, 2015 was a bad year for Oregon wildfires--there was another huge fire (of which I also have some aftermath pix) about 70 miles northeast near Baker City. Resources were stretched--
