Curtz Lake

A shallow basin near Markleeville, California, very near the Nevada line, that dried up completely during the drought, but which has held water since the extraordinary season in spring 2017. Note the lake is nearly dry in the satellite view. Looking slightly north of east.
Obviously, winter has now begun! The inset shows a view from near the pines on the peninsula, just right of center, back toward here.

The cold and clear weather is ideal for photos! I guess this lake is frozen now.

Lovely snowy scenes, the lake was indeed well down in the satellite image.
