Drizzly

On Sugarloaf Creek inlet, Lake Shasta, California. This inlet had been dry for years--see the satellite view, and note the flooded trees in the water straight ahead. The pine seedlings on the shore in the foreground are also at risk; this bare shoreline is the "bathtub ring" covered by the lake at its highest level. The lake's being drawn down again to make room for the spring runoff. The inset shows some drowning seedlings.

Oh, and yes--those are raindrops pittering down on the water surface!
