Green River

by slgwv
In the eponymous state park in the eponymous town, Utah. The buildings are in the town--it's a small settlement right on I-70. Altho there is still a bit of irrigation agriculture in the area, the economy now mostly depends on the freeway. Looking upstream; the inset shows the downstream view, with the railroad bridge in the distance.

I wouldn't have expected such a tranquil and green river scene in Utah!

It's between canyons here! It's emerged from a canyon upstream, and starts dropping into another not far downstream. This flat area is a bench underlain by the resistant Jurassic sandstone units.

I've been through Green River multiple times, but never went down to that park. It gives a very different perspective on the area.

We were very impressed with the park--had never stayed there before--and would stay there again with the trailer. It has electricity and water hookups, and showers. Utah seems to do a good job with their state parks!
