View from Chemung Mine

Several miles from the old mining camp of Masonic, in the Bodie Hills of California, near the Nevada line. The deposit was discovered in 1909, in Masonic's heyday, but operations persisted much longer, until 1938, with some desultory activity thereafter. The metal of interest was gold. View looking a bit south of west across the Bridgeport Valley to the Sierra Nevada.
