Separating the eastern suburbs of Seattle (Bellevue, Redmond, etc.), from points farther east. It is parallel to Lake Washington, which separates Seattle from the eastern suburbs, but much smaller. Like Lake Washington, tho, Lake Sammamish is a natural lake occupying a glacially scoured basin.
