My brother Nicholas, who is nine, looking just about as happy as I was upon discovering at my first (and only) Girl Scout Meeting that we would be sewing Girl Scout flags. I had sort of liked the idea of wearing the uniform - but that perk didn’t come close to making up for having to sew anything - so I never went back.
I’m sure my mother was very happy to have not bought the uniform ahead of time!
My brother lasted for maybe a year - but he wasn’t into the crafts or tasks at all - he just wanted to be somewhere else, playing his guitar.
