Also known as: Wake Robin, Stinking Benjamin, Trillium erectum, purple trillium, or bethroot.
It's a species of flowering plant in the family Melanthiaceae. (Thanks, Wiki.)
Seen on the Bristol Trail close by our house.

And the white trillium have one very strong advantage over the Red Trillium.
Here’s a hint, yet another name for the red one is “Carrion Flower”.
Yep, that’s right. the red trillium smell like rotting meat!
Still lovely to look at though!
