I have to wince (once again) at my mother’s miserable non-skill in haircutting. I guess she thought if she cut my bangs (fringe) short enough she wouldn’t have to do it again for a year.

RicksPics replied to Deborah Lundbech:

My youngest complained for years about the haircuts my wife gave her; similar bangs but shorter in the back, Dutch boy style. She claims she was mistaken for a boy on several occasions. A couple of years ago, she showed us a copy of a childhood photo of her partner with an identical haircut. She was unamused by my comment that she wore it better.

Rick, my kids complain about the “mushroom” cuts they got - that THEY requested and I never liked!! Ya can’t win for losing!

I don't think you have any business appearing in this knitting pattern cover photograph, but it provides another welcome view of your trade mark open smile. I should have liked to read the description that was lost, but then, I am just nosey.

Deborah Lundbech replied to The Limbo Connection:

That’s pretty funny, Limbo. I have posted a couple of pics from my mother’s knitting book (that I currently can’t access to share). It never occurred to me before but this definitely shows us looking like a vintage knitting book, with a couple of my mother’s creations!
A short recreation of my post - this was pic taken at a studio for my Dad to take to the U.S. He was leaving earlier than us with our next door neighbor and was taking this to show to people his family. My mother cut herself off the photo because it was a truly terrible photo of her. Normally, I would think this was awful - but in fact it was a good decision - the image was the worst ever! She had a terrible cold. It was definitely one to toss.
I’ll post the link to the knitting book when I can get it!
I’m all about “nosy”. Nosy is great!

I loved this book as a kid because most of the time it gave the name of the models - which sort of mirrored my paper doll obsession in some way.
Now, as someone who breaks out in welts with wool against my skin, they make me shudder a little.
