Anything Like A Scout

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: ANYTHING LIKE A SCOUT - trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and/or reverent.
I have no idea if this young girl had any of those scout-like virtues - but I'm posting it on a purely visual hunch.
Found photo from a house bordering the Bristol, Vermont green that was having an estate sale, probably about 15 years ago.
She is currently unidentified, but I'm hoping to identify her this year at the Bristol Historical Society.
I'm guessing this was taken sometime in the 1940s.

Oh, she looks very pleased with her uniform. Band member? Movie usher? Ticket taker on the streetcar? Thought-police auxiliary? Love the saddle shoes. I wonder if she danced the "Bristol Stomp."

haha! Great guesses, Rick!
I've never heard of "The Bristol Stomp" or perhaps I have and forgotten it. (Possible!)
Tell me about it!

RicksPics replied to Deborah Lundbech:

"The Bristol Stomp" was a popular song from The Dovells, a Philadelphia do-wop group in the early '60s. It was written to take advantage of a new dance craze that originated in Bristol, PA, a Philly suburb. Just see if you can keep yourself from dancing with abandon when you listen to this!

Wow, so fun! can't believe I haven't seen this in our artsy town - it would be a hit!
I'll have to talk to some Bristol old time residents and see what they remember. Thanks for the link!
