Out On The High Seas

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park monthly theme of: FUNNY OR AMUSING

My father wrote on the back:
"Out on the high seas. The salt spray in our faces, the wind whipping through our back teeth.
Sorry for the blot."

Many years later, my father with great glee told me that the blot covered a man standing with water up to his ankles.
The boat was actually beached.
It was sent to his sister Joan, back in Wales while he was stationed in Kasfareet, Egypt, in the1940s.
She sent me this in the 1970s. I'm not sure he ever let her in on the joke.
It's pretty funny to me - classic my Dad - that the other two men are smiling into the camera, sort of sheepishly acknowledging the trick, while my Dad puts his whole self into creating the make believe scene.
