Marie Delorn (1870-?); French (mezzo-) soprano.
In 1891 she made her debut at the Opéra-Comique as Mercédes in Bizet’s “Carmen”. She had her entire career at the Opéra-Comique, where her husband (the composer Henri Carré) was the conductor of the Opéra-Choir. Here she sang mostly comprimario roles like Lola in “Cavalleria rusticana”, Meg Page in “Falstaff”, the Witch in “Hansel und Gretel” and Rosette in “Manon”. She sang at the première of Delibes’ ”Kassy” (1893), Massenet’s “Cendrillon” (1899) and Charpentier’s “Louise” (1900). In 1897 she sang the role of Mary in the first French performance of Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer”.
