Calcio Fiorentino (also known as calcio storico “historic football”) is an early form of football that originated during the Middle Ages in Italy. Interest wained in the 17th century, but in 1930 it was revived. It is played in Florence by four teams, linked to a neighbourhood. People with a criminal conviction cannot play in the game.
