La Unión y el Fénix was a Spanish insurance company, founded in 1879 by a merger of two companies. This building dates from 1929. The Union and the Phoenix was first taken over by the Banco Español de Credito, later by AGF and in 1998 the German insurer Allianz bought AGF.
