Built in 1864 in France for the Confederate States Navy, but the sale was prohibited by emperor Napoleon III. It was sold instead to the Prussian Navy. It was a ram ship, but it saw little action. It was discovered that the wood had rotted, so the ship was removed from service in 1871 and scrapped in 1878.
