Vlissingen 2017 – Statue of Frans Naerebout

Frans Naerebout (1748-1818) was a pilot who on July 24, 1779 saved the lives of 87 seamen of the Woestduin, which was destroyed in a storm. Later he saved more lives. The first statue was erected in 1919, but it was damaged in the Second World War. This statue dates from 1952.
