Roof ornaments on the Templum Salomonis
The house was once the house of Philips of Leyden, a lawyer who lived from 1326 to 1382. He collected books, so his house was called the temple of Salomon. When the booksellers Pieter Burgersdijk and George Niermans established itself in this building in 1894, they reinstated the name.
