Waterford 2013 – Butcher

Michael Griffin – who owns this butcher's shop – stopped selling meat in 1983, when Ireland joined the EU. The quality of meat declined because of it, so mr. Griffin stopped selling meat. According to a newspaper article in the Waterford News & Star of August 3, 2007 – visible in the shop window – mr. Griffin said: „The farming community sold out to the EU and the quality of meat and farm produce has suffered because of it. The EU is built on corruption and fraud. Farmers are living on handouts from EU instead of fostering a vibrant agricultural business in Ireland.”
Nevertheless the shop opened every day.

I don't know if the shop still opens, in 2007 it did. Maybe the shop was closed for holidays or maybe the shop is closed every Thursday.
