Ghost Tree
Saturday Self-Challenge: Negative Space
I had an opportunity to visit Shenandoah National Park this week while away on vacation. Skyline Drive is famous for its scenic views of the Appalachian mountains. One thing we saw were many long-dead trees still standing. The American Chestnut was nearly wiped out by a fungus blight brought over on trees from Asia. The remains of one of these trees can be seen above silhouetted against the blue sky.

It's always sad to hear about trees being wiped out like this. Hopefully, they can recover their numbers.
