One of Many...

I found this row of ordinary mailboxes lining the streetside. The road dipped just enough to make the scene interesting so I tried my 200mm lens on it to see how it would turn out. I think I could have done with keeping the mailboxes in the background just a bit more in focus so they would stand out in the scene a little better. I also had to deal with rain clouds, making for flat lighting. I thought I'd take advantage of the situation and process the image to give it a bit more of a foreboding moodiness (that seems to be a state that I'm in a lot these days, lol).

nice vanishing point shot, I like the way the image is closed in and we don't see what's outside the frame, works well with the flat light.

Remote mailboxes are rarity in the UK and I'm fascinated by their variety and the individualism they all have. A well composed shot, Val.

Here in rural America, everyone has a mailbox; on a country road such as the one pictured, all the mailboxes have to be placed on one side of the road regardless of house location, in order to accommodate the mail deilvery truck route.

I really like what you did here, Val. Nice lines and it looks good on black especially. The way the black box is titled makes it stand out too (although I doubt you did that lol ;)

I know what you mean about finding an interesting box. I did a bit of driving around and they were all so ordinary.
