Guiding Light
Today my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting the Concord Point Lighthouse in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The lighthouse was built in 1827 where the Susquehanna River meets the tidal flow of the Chesapeake Bay. It is one of the oldest lighthouses in continuous operation on the East Coast. Fully restored, the Lighthouse and Keeper’s House are open to the public on weekends from April to October. We climbed to the top to view the light with its magnificent prism reflecting glass.

Yes, I know how lucky I am; I am also within 10 miles of the Turkey Point Lighthouse, located about 5 miles south of North East, Maryland. It can only be reached by hiking a 1.5 mile trail.
