Most people were probably lucky if they could afford a used Model T.
When I lived in Illinois I once passed a 1930s V-16 Cadillac on the tollway while driving my '70 Cadillac ambulance.
It must have been a rare sight like seeing a dinosaur passing a unicorn. : ]

For every loser during the depression ... there was a winner somewhere else! :-) I think the longest drive most of these cars go for is from the auction block to the trailer!
