Nicely posed. Might be better as a landscape.

I've cropped it as far as it will go. The image is grainy and visibly breaking up because it's a blow-up of less than half the negative area. That's because it was taken with an old film camera for which I have only a fixed FL "standard" lens. With a telephoto lens I could have zoomed in on the animals and got a technically better picture and potential prize winner.

OTOH if I'd been using a digital camera and having no film to finish off, I might not have been trying so hard to find something, anything, to take and might well have missed the shot completely.

That's perfect. I now feel that I'm looking right into the picture.

My only criticism would be that white blob in the top centre.

Worth buying that camera for, therefore, and humping it around. The picture, however, isn't specially popular on Flickr, not that that's any judge.

A further improvement might be removal of that white wisp of grass close to the udder.
