Good composition. In this instance you are right to minimise the path to show the height of the trees. Also right to not include the the very tops of the trees, giving us a sense that they might continue even higher.

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

The real subject here is the almost irridescent orange-rust colour of the tree bark which (in this case) isn't a digital artifact.

I like it very much.

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

Dingy as it is??

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

What do you mean? I cannot see any dingy effect.

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

It looks dingy to me, so I've lightened and brightened the Flickr version.

Disappointed by the total lack of response to my new pictures from the tour group on Whatsapp.

1. I was referring to what I call the "dingy effect", which you've used on this one, for example.

The above photo is fine as it is and not in the least bit dingy or diarr.

2. Have you responded to theirs?

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

1. "Dingy" must mean different things to different people.

2. No, because as yet there's been no word from any of them. If and when there is, I'll be the first to respond.
