Howard Somerville replied to Jean-Paul:

Thanks. The sun was behind clouds but (with tonemapping applied) it might have suited the subject better.

I'm guessing you took it from this angle to hide the velux?

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

Not at all. The odd small, inconspicuous Velux window doesn't bother me. This just happens to be the best spot to take it from, whereas the hoi polloi take it from the road bridge. The lighting, however, could have been better.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

So you're not hoi polloi? What are you then? Upper crust?

I like the way the cottages have come out, but I'm not so keen on the square format.

Howard Somerville: thanks to Isisbridge for suggesting this location
