C for contrived. (refers to the original picture before it was replaced)

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

R for rubbish. It's 100% 'as was', and was even taken from a standing position with the camera held at eye level. The Valerian were growing near the top of a wall.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

I never said it wasn't real. I didn't for one moment think you'd imported it from Shepperton. But the picture looks contrived, because you have the windmill peeping through the valerian and then a large space on the other side, which does suggest that you could simply have stepped around to get a clear view. I'm not saying I don't like valerian, but this just doesn't work.

P.S. Changed my mind. It could work very nicely if you use Roy's cropping suggestion, which brings the eye up to the sails without the distracting details in the bottom left corner.

Agreed.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

Ah, yes, that's much better. Roy might be a pain in the butt, but he does get things right sometimes. Just clone out that teeny bit of green on the bottom edge left (now done) and you've got a winner.

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

Sometimes, yes, especially when he has the benefit of a fresh eye on pictures (as here) taken over a decade ago.

I rather like the two-plane effect.

Isisbridge replied to Andy Rodker:

Andy, you're looking at it AFTER it's been improved according to Roy's suggestion.

Howard Somerville replied to Andy Rodker:

Unusual, because overflying aircraft are rare in North Norfolk.

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

All credit due to Roy, of course.

He might be referring to his golf swing.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

Roy hasn't got the balls for golf.

No, his caddy is filled with tees.
