It's a beauty and it looks very much lost in time, but that must in part be down to the skill of the photographer!

Howard Somerville replied to Andy Rodker:

Thanks, but apart from correcting the perspective, and darkening the sky a bit, there was nothing that had to be done to it

Roy is humming that old Blue Skies song:
nothing but blue skies do I see...

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

That's unavoidable if the fish weather vane (a distinctive feature of this particular church) is included, which it should be. I could substitute a cloudy Shepperton sky if Roy would prefer that.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

No, Roy likes the blue sky. But his eye is drawn to just that, rather than the tower.

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

So what does he suggest? The fish cannot be included without the sky. A more detailed Shepperton sky would distract from it even more, as well as from the main subject.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

Nothing. It is irredeemable. He reckons you might have done better to take it from a different angle, but cannot say for sure when he has never been to the place.
