I should hope that you would stick to your guns on these points, Howard! (I'm sure you will!).
Another excellent shot!

Howard Somerville replied to Andy Rodker:

I will. Roy insists that the main subject be placed high in the frame, with significant lead in at the bottom. That's his opinion, not mine.

I'd be interested to hear yours.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

Roy likes that a lot. Not "a lot of road" but just about the right amount.
Did you go back there especially to take it for him?

Howard Somerville replied to Isisbridge:

Glad he likes it, because I don't, particularly. To me the composition looks slightly top-heavy. But being anxious to please, I'll leave it as it is.

No, I haven't been back there. A pity in a way because after many hours of video watching, manual studying and fiddling with it, the new camera was finall made ready for use only yesterday, and if I'd taken it on Wednesday at least one of the pictures I took would have been better. It's the camera I should have had for the China trip 5 years ago, but better late than never. Using a sledgehammer to crack nuts is good, because it builds up one's muscles.

Isisbridge replied to Howard Somerville:

Well, that's why I faved it, seeing as you'd gone through so much anxiety to please,
though I still would have had slightly more road to balance that "top heaviness".

Roy is glad that you have not been led astray with the new camera.
