The first Black women in Ettrick, Virginia to vote in 1920 were members of the Virginia State University faculty. They were from left to right in front: Mary Branch, Anna Lindsay, Edna Colson, Edwina Wright, Johnella Frazer (Jackson), and Nannie Nichols.
