A Parrot Tulip at the New York Botanical Garden (Bronx, New York)—May 3, 2025. Processing and cracked, painterly green background was created to provide the feel of a 17th-century Dutch still life painting. Against the background, the tulip becomes a portrait of life’s intensity.

My description should have read, "Processing and a cracked, green painterly background..." I thought I had included the processing in the description but omitted it. Processing was essential to create the look and feel of the image.
