Mannequins are fascinating subjects. I love this. The colors, the composition, the reflections. I'm guessing this is not actually taken on film, that it is a photoshop or other photo processing framing? If so do you mind sharing what it is? I love it and that you are doing vertical images.
Thanks a lot! I’m really happy you liked it. I took the photo one day when I was walking by a clothing store and saw the mannequin. I had my Minolta X-370 with me, so I snapped a shot. It’s Fuji 400 film pushed to 800, and this is exactly how I got it back from the lab — no edits or Photoshop, just the scan
I'm so jealous. I very rarely take film anymore and I miss it. (I rely too much on my phone these days.)
Did you scan the negative, or did their print include the film edges?
While I learned photography on my mother's Rolleiflex camera, my own first camera was a Minolta SRT-100 which I still have and use for black and white photography, but not often enough anymore. Maybe you will have inspired me to pick it up again, it's right here at my feet.
Thanks so much! I honestly didn’t think one of my photos could inspire someone to get back into analog photography — that really means a lot. About the photo: the lab sends me the scans by email after developing the roll, and I uploaded it just the way I got it. I haven’t printed it yet, but I might someday. I’ve got a bunch of film cameras, but I really love shooting with my Minolta X-370.
