Hemerocallis, daylily

After making do with a 14-150mm lens for many years I finally stuck my hand in my pocked and bought an M.Zuiko Olympus 75-300mm lens, this is a quick test shot, so far I am pleased with the results.

James replied to Günter Klaus:

Thanks Güni I have a good macro lens and my 14-150mm that suit most of my photography but as I find I am less able to get close to some subjects, mainly birds, I thought it was time to crack open my wallet. So far I am pleased with my new lens.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

That lens is one of the Olympus "plastic fantastic" line up..........it gets really good reviews..!!

This image is beautifully sharp and detailed and I love the vibrant orange colour and the out-of-focus background is lovely. I'd say this is a successful test shot James. I'm looking forward to see what else you can do with it.

I always think it's such a shame that these gorgeous flowers last such a short time ;-(

James replied to Keith Burton:

I had to go for that one as it is lightweight and the cost !! This will give me a greater range than my 150mm especially if I use the cameras built in 2x converter. So far I am pleased with the results, I did try a Panasonic and to put it mildly it was rubbish.

Many thanks for the comment

Keith Burton replied to James:

They're good value and as you've just shown, it's good for telemacro as well.......especially for butterflies and bees etc.

I've only ever had one Panasonic lens......the 100-400mm and I wasn't over impressed. I sold it on quite quickly!

I'd really love the OM System 90mm macro........but I'd have to sell a kidney to afford it ;-)))

James replied to Keith Burton:

If I was able to do as much photography as I was able to do 15 years ago (I had an accident so mobility and weights are a problem) I would quite happily sell off parts of my grandchildren to fund my obsession :-)))

I hope my children don't see this!! lol
