Many thanks Güni, the leaves have already started to grow but they don't look very green and healthy and a few of the branches already look as though they have died so I hope that the tree survives.

Difficult to tell from this shot, but is it an Oak tree James?

It has a really lovely shape, which should become even better when it gets all it's new leaves in place. It looks splendid against the blue sky!

This tree is only down the road from me and I really should have taken some pics before it got to be this poorly looking :-(
The one thing I would like to do is get a pic of this in the snow but that ain't going to happen.
