Funny acronym. It never occurred to me because it never happened. I've had a Ford Fiesta for years, never a problem. I also like the fact that one rarely sees adverts for those cars. Not like the silly and absurd ones from many other brands...

I've had several Fords over the years and haven't had problems with them but of course there are some people who will run them them down just as others will slate other marques.
There are more acronyms such as "Found On Roadside Dead" or if read backwards "Driver Returns On Foot".
As I say John certainly not my opinion.
