Would I be right in thinking that this window incorporates pieces from early windows? At the time of the English Civil War the Puritans tried to destroy the decorative elements of churches, cathedrals and abbeys. Stained glass windows and statues were destroyed or damaged, but some elements were saved and hidden away and then worked into new pieces of art.
