The Bristol, Vt. bridge wasn’t plowed after it snowed, because it was deemed unsafe for cars after years of battering by spring thaws, and it was soon dismantled. That made my route in and out of town a little less safe, since the alternative road had more traffic which increased when this option was removed.
This was winter biking before I discovered Bar Mitts, so my feet hands were always cold, even with down mittens.
