The cyclists I know head straight for that kind of adrenaline ride.
Mind you, one of them did end up with a little brain damage…

Thanks for you comments, Steve. I cycle alone most of the time, a road like this is miserable going up, and terrifying going down, and you have to return the same way or a similar route (this is over Lincoln Gap on the Vermont Green Mountain range). I’m slow, and I stop a lot to be where I am, surrounded by astonishing beauty along the way.
