The magic of spring! (PIP)

We had a lovely sunny day yesterday. I saw the first butterfly of the year! A small tortoiseshell butterfly (Aglais urticae). Hibernation is over.

And we still have ice on some lakes! The Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) in PIP walks on the ice to the open water. There were also some whooper swans (Cygnus cygnus) on the lake, but I didn't manage to take a photo. The swans are migrating. The mute swan might stay here, the whooper swan will probably move on and breed in the northern parts of Sweden.

Very nice photo of this beauty! It's always nice when you start seeing those first butterflies to come out again in Spring.
