Depuis le XIIIe siècle, un pont en bois relie la ville historique de Büren au quartier de Reiben, sur la rive nord de l'Aar. Depuis, l'ouvrage en bois a été détruit à huit reprises par des inondations, la dérive des glaces ou des incendies.Il a notamment été détruit par les troupes bernoises lors de l'invasion française en 1798. Il a été reconstruit en 1821
Since the 13th century, a wooden bridge has linked the historic town of Büren to the district of Reiben on the north bank of the Aare. Since then, the wooden structure has been destroyed eight times by floods, ice drift or fire, for example by Bernese troops during the French invasion in 1798. It was rebuilt in 1821
