We just visited this area. This is a military memorial very near the capitol building for the state of South Dakota.

It is still under construction.

We live in South Dakota; our recent trip was "local" in that it included some of North Dakota, too.

Haven't visited the Crazy Horse facility in a few years. I believe that the face is well along. They have some interesting images at:
