You should be able to send the hat back to Tilley..........they are guaranteed for life......I've sent a couple back over the past 20 years and had no problems, they were replaced by new ones!

Yes, there was a happy ending. We now have extra "shoelaces". We beat these hats nearly to death over the years, primarily when boating and travel. Only had to replace a couple of times. They really stand behind their product!

They do indeed........my wife and I have about 10 between us including their excellent winter hats.
