The fruit, not necessarily the color. Taken in the market, Manaus, Brazil. Most of the fruit is green, but the inside is the real stuff.

My daughter has a few orange trees in her garden in Turkey, and she wouldn't pick the until they at least resemble the correct colour of orange.

In the hot tropics, it seems that some citrus fruit never gets beyond the green color, even though the flesh is mature (and usually, we hope, sweet).

Have visited Turkey on cruises, and seen its beautiful Mediterranean countryside.
