A wild flower grows gracefully next to a step in the building where I work, taking advantage of what little nourishment can be gleaned from windblown dirt collecting in the corners.

Thank you, HappySnapper. People call them "weeds" (and in Italian the equivalent term "erbacce" is even more disparaging!) only because we have a negative perception of them, but actually they are wild flowers, just like the rest of the grasses that bloom in meadows.
