a favourite sunning spot

Dante, feline neighbourhood boss, enjoys the winter sun on a favourite rooftop spot. He is 13, going on 14, officially belongs to a neighbour family, but, disgruntled by the arrival of a new puppy at home, often asks us to be his foster family (when he's not patrolling rooftops). I guess you might say we have shared custody of him ;)

Yeah, and probably self-satisfied too ... I bet he thinks his superior battle skills are the reason Costantino gave up and moved elsewhere :D Thanks for the visit and comment, Udo!

Haha - I don't blame him. Puppies are cute, but such a pain! ;-b
Love this shot and the story.

Annalia S. replied to Diane Putnam:

And this is a Pinscher puppy we are talking about! Cute, playful, active, but probably a pain to the second power for poor Dante. Fortunately, his official human family is very understanding and his "Mom" says: "As long as he's happy, I'm happy". The arrangement also leaves them and us free to go away for a few days without having to worry about cat sitting and with just a bit of coordination between us required. Not that he would have much of a problem with food ... I am pretty sure he gets breakfast every day from yet another neighbour family. Quite a charmer! :D

Diane Putnam replied to Annalia S.:

Cats are very resourceful little pets, they don't mind taking care of themselves for awhile. That's why I like them - although I have no cat, anymore. ;-(

Annalia S. replied to Diane Putnam:

Sorry to hear that, Diane. We lost our feline companion of 17 years 3 years ago and it was really painful. She's the black and white kitty featured in my avatar. They ask for so little and bring so much joy!

Annalia S. replied to Boro:

Thank you, Boro. Dante was "relocated" to live with the grandmother of his official family in March. I miss him terribly, but I hope he's happy!
