My neighbours killed my flowering cherry tree with weed killer. I do like cherry blossom and I had a blossom tree outside my bedroom window in my old home.

You have definitely got horrible neighbours. It's nothing to do with them, what you have. I really love apple blossom, especially the one growing just in front of my lounge - the blossoms are pink and white - gorgeous. They should be out soon too.
