I shall have to watch mine... my mother loved lilac and she planted them in each garden she had.

Whoever lived in this house before we moved in, during 1959, had planted the lilacs. Going up the driveway are pale lilacs (about 10 trees), then further round the driveway are dark purple and white lilacs planted alternately - (about 15 trees) - then down into the garden are white, pale purple lilacs, also planted alternately (about another 10 - 15 trees). The white lilac is my favourite because of its gorgeous scent. They obviously liked the lilac!!!!
