An outstanding shot TOZ........your focus (especially on its eyes) and depth of field is just perfect. The detail is excellent and the owl is perfectly placed in the frame..!! ⭐️

Wonderful capture – the power and focus of this Eurasian eagle owl really come across. Interestingly, the term ‘eagle owl’ is one of those rare cases where English feels a bit short of nuance: English is usually richer than many languages in its range of names, but here it tends to group several species under just a few labels. In contrast, many Slavic languages have distinct traditional names for almost every kind of owl, so their vocabulary is actually more fine‑grained in this area.

Btw, that line – ‘The Eurasian eagle-owl is a species of eagle-owl, a type of bird that resides much over Eurasia’ – is wonderfully thorough in telling us that a Eurasian eagle-owl is an eagle-owl in Europe and Asia that lives in Eurasia.

Brilliant action shot. I guess this was a matter of luck and patience, mostly the latter.
