Castlerigg

Evening light at Castlerigg Stone Circle, Lake District.
Castlerigg is perhaps the most atmospheric and dramatically sited of all British stone circles, with panoramic views and the mountains of Helvellyn and High Seat as a backdrop. A ring of 38 standing stones, it was probably built around 4,500 years ago, in the late Neolithic period.

I am constantly amazed by how many splendid landscapes you have taken over the years Toz. Another excellent offering here with this lighting, especially on the clouds. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with both our UK Landscape Photography and The English Lake District groups, Herb

A grand shot and capture Gordon,.. I always think on how humanity has moved on so much over 4.5k years,. but those yonder hills will appear much the same as they did back then.. Cheers from > Dj.
