HWW...........

Dry stone walls are one of the Yorkshire Dales' most distinctive features, and are some of the oldest man-made landscape features.

It's believed there are over 5000 miles (8000 km) of dry stone walls in the Yorkshire Dales. Not all of them are in tip-top condition but most are well maintained.

I agree with Herb & Roger. There are a lot of dry stone walls in Somerset.
As kids we used to call them stone hedges ;-)
A beautiful and fitting Wednesday shot TOZ.

Miles of dry stone walls here that must take a lot of upkeep but are well worth the effort. They look so attractive TOZ and it is lovely to see someone repairing them. It is an art form that I hope will never die out. Love the wildflowers here also. Beautifully captured

If all of us do some maintenance it would not be hard to keep them in condition. I do it.
